You come into Immesouane from high up – from the top road, the view was a sea of mist. As we descended Immesouane came into view, and these lovely clean waves. It was a haven and we stayed a while. A local, Javi, taught me a little bit more how to surf.

THE EXHIBITION AND PROJECT
Unfortunately, I am not a surfer. However, in 2005 I went on a 6-month trip around the coasts of Spain, Portugal, France and Morocco and learning to surf seemed inevitable. During my trip I made a diary, which included writing, paintings and collages. Along with all the photographs we took, these visual and written records have inspired me to produce new paintings for the exhibition ‘View from the Back: Journal of a Surf Trip’.
